About The Corporate Treasurers Council

The Corporate Treasurers Council (CTC) of the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) is a private network of treasury executives that meets in small groups and interactive forums to discuss critical issues facing treasury and the evolving role of the treasurer. Corporate Treasurers, CFOs, VPs of Finance, Controllers and Assistant Treasurers engage in confidential interactions to identify practical solutions and innovative ideas to optimize treasury and drive the growth of their organizations. The activities of the CTC are structured to support treasury leaders in identifying and developing optimal solutions to the challenges they face.

The CTC began in April 2005 as a series of Quarterly Breakfast Roundtable meetings in metropolitan areas throughout the United States. Meetings were held in five cities and grew to10 cities by the first quarter of 2006. The agenda for the meetings were driven by the issues of treasurers in attendance and addressed topics such as capital structure optimization, investing non-U.S. cash, treasurers role in risk management, the treasury organizational structure and finding the right bank partner in emerging markets.

Based on the attendees' feedback to broaden the locality and diversity of participants in the CTC, AFP established an increased suite of services to meet the needs of this unique network of finance and treasury leaders. The Corporate Treasurers Council includes the following benefits:

  • Treasurers roundtables in major metropolitan locations (currently 11)
  • Facilitated virtual treasurers roundtables
  • Executive virtual forums on strategic topics lead by industry experts
  • Access to exclusive executive level job listings
  • The Treasurers Network, an e-mail discussion list
  • Access to selected presentations from AFP conferences and forums
  • Exclusive pricing to AFP events and services, such as AFP Executive Institute and AFP Global Corporate Treasurers Forum
  • Single point of contact for CTC and AFP questions and support
